Just got to know last night that The Royal Oak at Clayton-le-Dale Lancashire UK (A59 near Ribchester turn off) is starting up again and on Saturday 17th May we (Penny Black) have been asked to go along and play....

The Landlord doesn't know which way to go - but wants to put on "Live Music" - could this be an "in" for a new "Folk" venue??

If you're in the area, come along and show support for Folk music and hopefully he will get the message and have regular "Folk Artist" or maybe let someone set up a folk club - if it shows profits and he is willing to invest in artists it could be a great venue......

It'll kick off about 8.30/9.00 pm

At Yorks Gathering this weekend, but could be interested in the future- weekends tend to be busy with festivals from now on though.

Good luck!

Many thanks Songs2play re Folkal Point - Jan is going to put it out on tonights Lancashire Drift as well -

I'll have a chat with the Landlord Saturday and see If I can find out where he wants to go with Live music - and if they'll be any repeat events..... or if he'd like it to go Folk Clubish..... It'll most likely be down to "Pints over the bar"!

Schantieman - not sure about accommodation but will check this as well on Saturday...

I've just sent out a Stop Press to the Folkal Point mailing list, quoting your first post, Pete. Here's hoping we can drum up a load of support for Saturday. (And thanks for putting it online as well, Leighton.)
