I heard a great song on Sunday night announced as being written by Bobby the Zee, but no title. All I can remember is that the line 'Or is your love in vain' kept occurring at the end of each chorus. Can anyone give me the lyrics and tell me which album it's on?
Hopefully,
JB

The song is called Is Your Love In Vain. You can find it, for example, at (along with the rest of Dylan) at My Back Pages - A Closer Look At The Music Of Bob Dylan (the site I usually use for this purpose, but there are lots of others); use the alphabetical list of songs to find it.

As far as I know the song is called "Is Your Love in Vain". I recall Steve Turner used to do it accompanied by Concertina.

I'll try to find the lyrics when I get home from work tomorrow Aust time (tonight US time)

Cheers

Forgot to add it's on Street Legal and Live at Budokan, though the information is on the site I linked to.

Has he borrowed the title from a Robert Johnson song ?

Or have I got it wrong AGAIN !!!!!!!

Dylan's song title is a more-or-less "answer" to Robert Johnson's "Love in Vain" (which is perhaps most widely known thanks to having been recorded by the Rolling Stones).

So, songs2play, the answer to your question is yes and no. Dylan's title is not an exact quote of the earlier tune's title (or of its lyrics), but it's obviously a reference or tribute to it.
