'fraid not.

As far as I know:
Wednesday 8:30 Everyman FC, Everyman Theatre, Hope Street (downstairs, 'third room') Hughie Jones, Bernie Davis etc.
Sunday 8:15 Bothy FC, Blundell Arms, Upper Aughton Road, Birkdale, Southport.

There are others in Liverpool but I don't know where or when. Folkal Point (via Joan Blackburn) has the info. and so (at a price) does Folk North West.

er, that's the Bothy, in Southport, not the Bothy6, which is probably in Hull.

Don't know of any tune sessions, but Walton Folk Club meet every Friday and Sunday nights (singers nights/singarounds, no guests booked) at Walton County Ward Labour Club, 39 Hale Rd, Walton, Liverpool L4 3RL. Contact Lilian French on 0151 474 0979 for further details. (Info from Folkal Point.) If anyone knows of any other folk events / sessions, please let me know so I can publicise them in Folkal Point.

Joan (Blackburn)

Ah, well, there we are then. Obviously no hope for a city with a poor-value sandwidge boutique!

Good ideas, John- Flanagan's (near the Cavern, and the wonderful Armadillo tea rooms) used to be the place for proper Irish sessions, not sure about these days though. Worth asking.

Pogue Mahone's sessions are on Wednesday nights unfortunately - but are well worth catching as some very accomplished musicians sometimes drop in.
I don't think there is much going on at Flanagan's Apple these days but there could be an occasional casual session. I think the same sort of arrangement applies at Scruffy Murphy's i.e. something sometimes happens but without anything as organised as prior planning involved. If you turn up with a fiddle maybe someone else will encourage you to play it, or they may just chuck a penny in your cap and send you packing!
Just for the record here is a fairly current list of Irish music sessions in the North West Irish Sessions in UK North West
