The death has occurred of Rachel Kempson,actress and widow of Sir Michael Redgrave at the age of 92. Born in Devon, she was the mother of Vanessa, Lynn and Corin Regrave and the grand-mother of Natasha and Joely Richardson. She appeared in such movies as "The Captive Heart" (1946); "Georgy Girl" (1966); "Out of Africa" (1985) and "Deja Vu" (1998) among many others. Sincere condolences to the family.

Kempson was also in the television dramatization of Paul Scott's The Jewel in the Crown, playing Daphne Manners' aunt. That role brought her back to the attention of American audiences.
