I read somewhere that there was a piano available for playing in one of the fringe venues but I can't find where it said...we trawled around looking for it but didn't track it down. Enjoyed the festival but the weather was a bit soggy!

Remember it all like it was yesterday, Mick. Somebody recently started a fortnightly folk session that I attended. Mnnyyaaaa - Mrs McGrath was indeed belted out, along with the auld Punch Ladle. Brilliant to do some of that again. Gonna wheel out some Nic Jones and Martyn Simpson this friday, that'll give em something to think about! Heh heh. Folk is alive and well in St. Helier, I'm pleased to report. There were fiddle players, banjos, whistles, flutes, and guitars. Just need a good box player now and it'll be just like Nellies used to be. Wehey!

Have a great weekend everybody, hope the weather is ok for you!

Pete

I'll be there with my mate Brian Nelson.

We are running sessions at the Minster Bar on the racecourse along with our presentation "Flowers on the water"original songs, anecdotes and visual presentation of the decline of the Hull Fishing industry.
Our new cd is now released!!

Admittance is free for both events. Hope to see plenty of friends old and new.
I am looking forward to getting out and about to the fringe sessions in the Sun, Hodgesons and Tiger.

Bit of a trek back from the Channel Islands, but I'll probably make it back one year!

Looks like I'm going to be there this year with Bigbird but without the camper. It's part way through a big re-build but it won't be ready for the trip north.

This year it'll be chiefly - a tent.

Looking forward to a great weekend.
