Subject: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Thomas the Rhymer Date: 27 May 03 - 01:27 PM I wonder about this question often! What exactly is it for you? New Love, old love, tired love, no love, just love, universal love, cold hearted lovelike imitations, hard times, drama, wishes, realities gone fantastic, mundane patterns gone magical, great new melodies that just need to be snug, great old snogs that are just begging to be filked, celibacy, instantanious free love, Christ, Dreams, Nightmares, the best laugh you have had in a week, or a wild trainwreck at a loelife crossroad... or what? Well.......? Happy spring, you snogwriters... ttr |

Shifts..[8 on 8 off 24, 7 will suffice] non stop noise. Intermittent communication with home. Lots of sea. More sea. Wife at home. Bunk the size of a coffin. Nothing to do but work, sleep, and eat. [But not in that order] Hope you get the idea! Cheers shippers! |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: GUEST,Songster Bob Date: 27 May 03 - 04:54 PM To judge from my output of late, nothing. I haven't written a new song, nor made significant changes to existing ones, since 2001, and that was a "sparce year." I don't write to specific criteria or under specific circumstances, so I don't know what gives me the "urge." The problem is that I can't artificially induce a song simply by putting myself into a "trigger" situation. Unfortunately. Songster Bob Clayton |

Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Kim C Date: 27 May 03 - 05:41 PM I write snogs for lots of different reasons. It just depends. The only way I can describe it is, when they're ripe, they fall off the tree, and I have to be there to catch 'em. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Rapparee Date: 27 May 03 - 06:18 PM Snogs...delicious with a good barbeque sauce, grilled over a fire of well-seasoned banjo wood. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: vectis Date: 27 May 03 - 06:39 PM I always write snogs with a co-writer of the opposite sex. They can take hours of rewriting but, what the Hell, who cares. Snog writing is FUN FUN FUN He He He |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Apache Date: 27 May 03 - 07:01 PM Writing snogs is a complicated business, there are many types of snogs, could you be more elabourate? Regards, Apache "Folk Dancing was originally a way of swatting flys" --Anon. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Thomas the Rhymer Date: 27 May 03 - 08:56 PM Elaboration is a snap!... when it comes to snogs! I'm mostly concerned with the writing of prevaricatious snogs that beckon bread and butter passion from gatherings of the lustfully disinterested workaholics, reminiscing amoung the cut fowler arrangements... |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Rapparee Date: 27 May 03 - 09:06 PM I once knew several cut fowlers. Poor chaps, they kept rearranging themselves, hoping to find lustily interested snogs. Are these the sort of cut fowlers you had in mind? They could prevaricate with the best of them. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Cluin Date: 27 May 03 - 11:39 PM Well, I know how to write off a snog (several reasons there can be for that), but how do you write them? Is it Xs and Os? Which is which? |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: GUEST,Lady Jean Date: 27 May 03 - 11:45 PM In that I'm heartily sick of being a cleaning lady, I have been writing a romance. I've been writing about more than snogging, and it's damned embarrassing. What inspires me? Cleaning a bathtub every day. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Benjamin Date: 28 May 03 - 02:32 AM I don't really write them out myself, I just improvise and let them develope into something special. But I guess diversity isn't a bad thing! |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 28 May 03 - 04:19 AM Sometimes they comes and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they're pretty good and occasionally funny, sometimes they're a big flop. Bit like life really.... LTS |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: GUEST,noddy Date: 28 May 03 - 06:17 AM You can write Love Snogs or Erotic Snogs (see another thread) or humourous snogs. What you find as funny in a snog some people might not appreciate. Serious snogs are had work whereas a funny snog can be looked upon as a through-away until you are good at snogging. Hope that helps but keep trying There is nothing like a good snog. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: ToulouseCruise Date: 28 May 03 - 11:13 AM Ahh, I yearn the good old days when we could write snogs without worry of threats, foot odor, or peeling paint. But now, I find that snog-writing has become snog-righting where you must not only correct any wrong snogs you meet, but also hold them up when they have fallen down. Brian. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Leo Condie Date: 28 May 03 - 11:32 AM I remember once Bob Dylan, when asked what his snogs were about, said "about sex minutes". I don't know about you but that bit of advice has got me pretty far in life. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Thomas the Rhymer Date: 28 May 03 - 12:02 PM Sing, sing out snog! So, when the snog is written and you feel satisfied with it's completeness, and you are humming little finger patterns through it's lovely modal form... Ah yes... waking up with your new snog... mmmmmmmm! Oh! Where was I...? I don't try to change them, myself... it's a sporting thing... kinda like busking without putting in the seed money, and seeing if you can predict who will break the ice... Love snogs sure do change my hair style... especially durring the collection of their 'imperical data'. Brang new snogs infatuate/infuriate friendship factions... Oh, btw, is it considered proper to indulge while creating, and/or, how long should you wait before desert? ttr |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Deckman Date: 28 May 03 - 04:50 PM Ya know, I used to write snogs. In fact, I wrote a lot of snogs. I was known as the snog master. In fact, some said it became a serious problem in my life, but I never believed them. However, in an effort to save my nineteenth marriage, I joined a snog writing support group. Excuse me now, I have to go .... bob |

Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: sian, west wales Date: 29 May 03 - 04:10 AM I know a fowler who is, quite often, half cut, if that counts. He is also a fair sniger of snogs. sian |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 29 May 03 - 04:58 AM Sometimes a sentence or a phrase will just start echoing round my head to a particular tune (always borrowed, I've only once written a tune ~ I can only remember it because I programmed it into my cellphone as a ring tone!), or a group of words will suggest a story and a rhythmn..... Then the difficult bit starts. Often the hardest part is finishing the story without going on for 87 more verses. LTS |

Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Bates from Birregurra Date: 29 May 03 - 07:29 AM I thought I could add something to the art of snog writing, where I grew up it was the equivalent of "petting", however, all the smart things I thought of were already in the thread, so I'll snig off now Cheers Bates |

Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: tooligan Date: 29 May 03 - 09:22 AM Can we have a serious discuusion now on what I think the original question meant - How do you right a snog? |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: silverfish Date: 29 May 03 - 10:17 AM On, on, on... tooligan. The question was what perspires you to snog rite. For me it's a compulsion to communicate my observations, emotions and feelings on life. The downside of it is you have to wear yourself out with too many late nights, deep thoughts and much heartache and alcohol poisoning before you can snog rite good. And bye the thyme you can do it well, you've forgotten.... How? |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Thomas the Rhymer Date: 29 May 03 - 11:43 AM No snogs for breakfast... I'm fresh out. Cerialously, speaking of communication, a bad snog can right many wrongs, and a good snog will wright conclusive catharsis... and this tickles many fancies at once. But who actually writes snogs anyway? The ones I pen were captured in the wild, as apparitions delivered to my fantacy sanctuary's managerie... But yes, the snogs that stick around on their own are the keepers... ttr |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: ToulouseCruise Date: 29 May 03 - 01:14 PM Ummm, Tooligan... haven't you found that it is more fun to wrong a snog than to right one? let's here it four knewly corrupted snogs! Brian. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: GUEST,noddy Date: 30 May 03 - 05:18 AM Tooligan all sorts of things move you to write but for some it could just be the commercialism, the thought of making money that drives some on or the idea of fame. my other half tries to write and thinks that she does not have to share them with anyone. It may be that she does not think they are good enough but sometimes she says "why do they have to be shared ..I wrote them for myself no-one else". So we have these silly discussions about does it exist if no-one hears it. I keep trying to persuade her to record them but have failed so far. I am envious of those who can express ideas in music. |
Subject: RE: What inspires you to write snogs? From: Thomas the Rhymer Date: 30 May 03 - 10:46 AM ...and where would the folk process be without a good snog once in a while... and whether or not the 'folk process' has revisited the lyrics to knew locations, and multi-dimensional meanings, some snog writher with a long lost yet once powerful snog emotion... wrote.
