It's not authentically old or Scottish or Irish; it belongs to that category known as Filk, and was written by an American.

See this thread: Lyr Req: March of Cambreadth (Heather Alexander).

Subject: Marching song - Scottish or Irish?
From: Beth Bachuss

I am looking for the title and lyrics of a marching song with the following refrain:

"Midnight mare and blood-red roan, Fight to keep this land our own, Sound the horn and call the cry, How many of them can we make die?"

Any help would be appreciated. I can be reached at bnjbachuss@aol.com and I will try to check back here. Thanks!
