I should probably defend myself, since I'm the one Sandy credited w/ the information...but I don't think I will. I'll just leave it a mystery; much more fun in the long run! ;) Just for the record, though, as far as I know, Rick is strictly heterosexual & a one-woman man!

Lost my cookie again. I was more concerned about what Heather might have to say. I think she could take seamus on. What do you think? A pool?

Glad you made that clear, Rick. Sandy mentioned something about you "coming out of the closet" and some of us were a little worried when this thread appeared. Nothing against Seamus, you understand...

It may not be obvious, so I'll be clearer. Although Seamus is a wonderful and jolly man, and getting a phone call from him was indeed a treat, I meant the whole big deal of just hearing from someone that you feel you know pretty intimately but have never met.

Cheers

Rick

"Dreammmmmm Dream dream dreammmmmm........
When I want you........."

Actually the Ford Escort was the perfect car. Great gas mileage, wayyyy down the list of cars getting stolen by professionals....AND...and this was the important part. When I was car shopping I took my measuring tape with me. The little Escort's trunk would JUST hold my sound system, banjo and guitar....without it being visible. The Honda was a better car, but thieves also like it!

Rick,
A Ford Escort? Me too! Ask Kendall. He had to be unfolded after our last trip to DC. I even bought him a heated, vibrating car seat for the next trip...but he says there is not to be another. His loss. Now I will vibrate alone all the way to the Getaway!

Did Seamus yodel for you? Insert GIANT SIGH! Did you yodel for him? Did Heather ask for a divorce?

You never did sing an Everly Bros. song at the last Getaway. Next year?

SINS

Yes, you would have had to invent one. And if you had, would it have been any weirder?

Why am I not surprised you guys had a lot of things to talk about? You've both been doing the same kind of thing for your whole lives....pickin', singin', and making excruciatingly bad jokes....not necessarily in that order.

Spaw---a fig newton of your imagination

It boggles the mind to even think of thinking up a Catspaw, Rick! **bg**

This sure is something, ain't it? A treasure here on Earth and well, who knows, maybe out there, too, if some of us are any indication.:-)

Way to go, Seamus!!

Well Carol, I have a shit-load of hats (even two of those ghastly moulded 'Texas' hats with feathers and snakeskin from the seventies 'urban cowboy' craze)

To a great many SUV drivers, my Ford Escort IS a funny little car!

Luv

Rick

I'm totally with you on this one, Rick. But we could have the funny hats or little cars if we wanted to... right?

What an amazing thing this Mudcat is. It's 'The Masons' with guitars...it's The Lions Club or The Rotary, or The Shriners, without the funny hats or little cars.

I'm being silly, but the similarities to those respectable "Civilian" organisations and service clubs has long been obvious to me....it's a Network, This Mudcat of ours. For me, it started over four years ago with Sandy Paton saying "check this out, they're talking traditional folk-music at the site".

The connections and relationships are amazing.....but so completely LOGICAL!

An hour ago I got a phone call from Seamus Kennedy, just ringing to say 'hello and get well'......and of course we talked for two hours....Shit, we literally know HUNDREDS of the same people, from up and coming song-writers like Coburg's Aengus Finnan, to grizzled veterans like Dennis Ryan. (by the way Dennis, it's been 40 years, I want my C whistle back!) Great to hear from you Seamus, and I hope we can hook up when you get to Buffalo!

Mudcat Marion's embarking on a 'cross-America' tour, and does anyone doubt she'll have anything but a great time staying with all her Mudcat contacts.....Bill Sables sure broke THAT ground.

Anyway....just remarking once again what an amazing twist all our lives took when we first dialed in. Hell....how many of us could have even IMAGINED a 'Catspaw'!!??

Cheers

Rick
