Lots and lots of catters no doubt will be going to the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival on FRiday June 13th to Sunday June 15th.

Cracking line up Bob Geldof and his Band or The Family Mahone. Thats two good Irish Bands???
Eliza Carthy and Oysterband are another two good reason for going.

Of course I am a bit biased in saying that Taggart and Wright are also worth seeing. This is their third visit to Middlewich in as many years.
Beware, their Roadie he is a World Champion Powerlifter (twice)

I was going but i'm not now...spurned by my one time lover, I'm not driving all the way to cheshire just to watch him play 2 sets and then die of embarrassment and hide from him... and eliza carthy's playing london tonight, so that's ok!

hi greg told you the Boars head was best ,specialy Friday when you needed stamina till 4.00am. great to have had Alison Parker and the third man join us and Rosie and a few great tunes from the gary ? band from the borders. Of course Anne and Angie were the best of the lot but I am biased.

I had to cop out of sessioning,after a not very wild gig in the carpark at Kings Lock I slipped home as we had to make an early start for the Liverpool riverfest the following morning. Where they had a Lancaster bomber and Spitfire flypast. plus a guy standing on the wings of a biplane looping the loop.And tall ships, the full monty. Sorry to leave Middlewich, especially after running into the Scottish lads clutching fiddles najoes and accordions and raring to go. next year, maybe I'll manage to stay the whole weekend.

Sorry not to bump into you at Liverpool, greg, but the other 299,998 people got in the way! Weren't it bizzy?

The Lancaster on one of its low-level passes up the river, aimed straight for us Shellbacks singing at the Landing Stage on the Pier Head... Bl**dy impressive!

We're feeling there's a conspiracy afoot though, as we had to curtail our singing at the International Festival of the Sea at Leith recently, due to attack by a Harrier and assorted ground-to-air fire...

It were a reet good do! Many thanks to all those who came along to the Salt Town Poets stuff at the Boar's Head and the British Legion. Mr Barker was, as always, brilliant on Sunday morning.
If you missed us, wee'll be at Nantwich in August, so there's really no escape.
Regarding boats (or lack of same)at the Folk & Boat Festival, I would suggest that British Waterways might be a good starting point for enquiries. Just a thought.
