Subject: POV TV program -Cambodian trad From: katlaughing Date: 06 Jun 03 - 06:13 PM This sounds like a really worthwhile show to catch..check your local listings for dates. Here's the blurb and a link to the Point of View (POV) website: "THE FLUTE PLAYER by Jocelyn Glatzer "When the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia in 1975, Arn Chorn-Pond was nine years old. He was separated from his family and thrust into the darkness of Cambodia's ghastly "killing fields" for four years. Now, after living in the U.S. for 20 years, Arn returns to Cambodia to save its once outlawed traditional music from extinction." POV They have several other music programs coming up. I will post reminders closer to the dates. Thanks, kat |
