Subject: Lyr Req: So Do I From: GUEST,divilthebit Date: 08 Jun 03 - 08:07 AM Hi all Just hoping someone could point me in the direction of the "So Do I" lyrics by Wally Page as recorded by Christy Moore. It begins with,"This is the day the fisherman likes...." Thanks Divil |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: So Do I From: GUEST, GEST Date: 23 Jun 03 - 08:20 PM I know what you meant, My Guru Always Said, but I'm sure it is a typo in the posted lyrics, not your post. :-) The idea of a curler (as in someone who slides rocks/stones on ice) showing up in the last chorus (compare first and last verses) is a reach, eh? I'm merely seconding your astute observation. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: So Do I From: My guru always said Date: 24 Jun 03 - 03:43 AM Gest: Glad we're on the same wavelength but I was thinking of the curler that would be used for curling hair (I hasten to add that I've never used them), maybe it's the scream from the person who's hair is being unravelled..... :0) Sorry to drift Masato! |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: So Do I From: belfast Date: 24 Jul 04 - 09:02 AM I'm surprised that nobody, as far as I can tell, has pointed out that Wally Page was inspired to write this great song by a poem by Thomas Hardy. You'll find the poem here -Weathers by Thomas Hardy |
