Is anyone planning to go to Moreton Village Festival this weekend ? - Linda and I will be there.

Moreton is a tiny village in Essex, near Ongar, not far from the M25/M11 junction. You can find a map here, the arrow indicates the campsite (or at least where it was last year - between the bridge and the "White Hart"). Come off the M11 at the Harlow junction and take the A414 towards Chelmsford and look for a left turn (signposted Moreton and Bobbingworth) after about 5 miles, just before you reach the Chipping Ongar juction.

It's a friendly place with some great sessions in the "White Hart" and possibly the other pub too this year as well as a ceilidh and various events on the festival site. There is a campsite with a small charge to cover the Portaloo cost. Last year there were breakfasts available on the campsite.

Not much to add to Dave's post. There are normally separate song and music sessions so if there is nobody to play along with, or if the musicians won't stop to let you sing then try the other one.

Ceilidh band is Dartmoor Pixie Band, with support from Mawkin.

We plan to be there Saturday afternoon and evening. Sunday we're sailing.

Slightly puzzled that there are no sessions listed on the program, apart from an "Irish" session. I've put a call through to Steve Delarre to clarify the situation.

I should get there some time. Someone was saying that things should be starting up with a session on Friday eveneing this year, with the campsite open then; anybody got any information on whether this is the case? Or times things are happening.

It's a great little event, lots of folk, but all as part of a village enjoying itself.

I've just notiuced Dave gives the dates as 13th-15th, imnplying that things do startr on Friday. Great.
