I heard a song on the radio some fifty years ago about a settler's remorse over the fact that his wife was killed by a bear while he was off doing another woman in a nearby cabin. Can anyone give me the bare facts on this song?

50 years ago? What kind of radio station would be playing this in 1953? I thought it was all Rosemary Clooney and Arthur Godfrey in those days. And you couldn't even hint at "doing another woman." But I could be wrong...
