Subject: Tech: Anyone know of a good DVD ripper? From: okthen Date: 19 Jun 03 - 09:25 AM I've gone an bought a dvd writer, thinking the software that came with it would enable me to back up my DVD collection, but no, nothing so obvious. I've spent ages trawling google and downloaded several that rip to a file Nero doesn't recognise or to VCD/SVCD. I'm even willing to part with money for something that will work!So you can tell how desperate I am. Any help greatly appreciated. cheers bill |

From: GUEST,mark@earlydoors.com Date: 19 Jun 03 - 08:40 PM hi, dvdx is the software you are looking for and it is now available in both ntsc and pal formats hope this proves useful, the software was the subject of a court case in the US last fall but film makers failed to stop the produiction of the software as you have a right to back up your own personal copies!!! |

Subject: RE: Tech: Anyone know of a good DVD ripper? From: GUEST,activenihilist Date: 19 Jun 03 - 10:29 PM A friend of mine bought DVD X Copy Express and absolutely loves it. It has the ability to compress DVD's by discarding the "extras" like subtitles, menus, etc. That, coupled with a NetFlix subscription, makes for one super cheap way to build up a video library -- at least until you get caught... Software is here: www.dvdxcopy.com A.N. |
