Subject: OR Gymanfa From: fsharpdim7 Date: 19 Jun 03 - 11:39 AM Well, in looking for things to do on my visit to Portland, OR this weekend, besides Andrew Calhoun on Sat., I see that this is the Sunday for the big OR Gymanfa Ganu - for all the Welsh (and other) hymn singers. http://wapnw.org/brynseion.htm I hope to make it. There used to be one every couple of years in a small place (and I mean "small" - chapel, feed store and a house) in upstate New York called Freedom with much the same agenda. It was a real hoot! Looks like a small church - you'd better go early! sian |
