Apologies to everyone who turned up to the Hathersage gig tonight (1 July).

We turned up as arranged, only to be told that another artist had been booked and Julie would not be required.

We have already heard from some of you who made the trip only to be disappointed. Unfortunately this is not the first time we have suffered from sharp practice from this venue and, needless to say, Julie will not be playing there again.

Apologies again to all who had a wasted journey.

Just a question - your list shows the Little John, Hathersage, gig as this Saturday, 5th July, with the 1st July at the Fox & Newt, Leeds. Is there an error in your dates above?

No error, just a problem with the formatting!

Dates comes before the gigs, so the Fox and Newt was the 27th June.

To clarify:

The Golden Lion, Lancaster is Saturday 5 July 2003

The Rising Sun, Sheffield is Thursday 10 July 2003

The other dates should be obvious, and are in the format I'll use in future. Must make a note to re-read the "presentation" chapter in my "Marketing for Beginners" book!

Actually, you did cause my heart to skip a beat. Reminded me of an old mate who turned up at the opera one night (we have very different musical tastes!) only to find two people sitting in the seats he had reserved for himself and his wife. Outraged that anyone should be arrogant enough to take his seats, he loudly demanded that they move this instant. When they refused to do so he marched off to find a steward, dragged him back to the row in the stalls and, in full view of the rest of the audience insisted that these disgraceful individuals be moved on without delay.

The steward then informed him that the tickets were, in fact, for tommorrow's performance ....
