I have not heard it. Is it recorded somewhere? My brothers and I refer to the squashed-by-the-roadside amphibians as "Frisbee frogs" (don't ask) and it seems to me there must be a song in there. |

Sounds like a Tom Lehrer song or a Woody Allen story - probably an amalgum "in the style of". Seem to remember the line about game wardens not being in season. I have a rabbit roadkill song - all the usual jokes in there. Not on my web site thought Todd the Toad is there as a "as heard" version. |

El Burro - (Spanish) A lament for the town burro, who has died. Gallo Del Cielo - Lyrics here in the forum. Gallo Del Cielo is a fighting cock that kills many an opponent but finally meets his match. The Last Leviathan - OK, it's more about species extinction (actual or threatened) than about individual dead animals, but... Barney - Ian Tyson sang this song about having to "put down" a beloved horse. The Roadkill Connection - parody of "The Rainbow Connection" Old Dog Tray - Stephen Foster - I can't remember if Tray dies in the song or not. But since it's a Civil War era song, he's no doubt dead by now. ;) Kitty Popcorn - This is another Civil War era song, a real tear-jerker, about a dear departed kitty cat. |
