Subject: There Was a Maiden

I would be very grateful if anyone could suggest a place for looking up a song (not quite a hymn) that was sung at Christmas in schools with Notre Dame de Namur sisters/nuns. It has a descant and the lyrics begin: There was a maiden pure and mild, who dwelt in David's city. Of her had the prophets long foretold that she would be God's mother. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
