A long essay discusses the provenance and proofreading of the works, their popularity and audience, and treachery and treason in them. Volume 2 will be an edition of the texts. Annotation c. More information from this 2003 memorial service notice:
"Carole was a Professor of English at Brooklyn College, City University
of New York, and was the author of the two volume "British Broadside
Ballads of the 16th Century." In addition to being a scholar, Carole was
also a fine singer, poet, and songwriter who performed many times at the
Peoples' Voice Cafe, as well as at the now defunct Fast Folk Cafe, both
in New York. She was also a long time member of the New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club and the Peoples Music Network, as well as several feminist, Jewish, and human rights organizations.

Carole suffered a stroke early in 2002 from which she never recovered,
and had been confined to hospitals and nursing homes from then until her

Thomas, this is a thread from 2003. I suspect if there had been any further volumes to be released they would have been published by now.

Suffet, I'm sorry none of us saw this/posted when your friend Carole died.

I thought of her often throughout the years. Carole
was my professor twice!!! Wonderful woman!

Greetings:

It is with great sadness that I report the death of a dear friend, Carole Rose Livingston, Professor of English at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, and author of the two-volume collection British Broadside Ballads of the Sixteenth Century. Carole passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, from the effects of a stroke she suffered early in 2002. She never fully recovered and had been confined to hospitals or nursing homes ever since.

Carole Rose Livingston was a member of the New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club, the Peoples Music Network, and the Peoples Voice Cafe. In addition to being a scholar, she was also a fine poet, singer, and songwriter. I am certain more information and tributes will be forthcoming. Let me just say that since the prayers of an infidel like myself count exactly as much as those of the truest believer, I pray that Carole now rests in peace.
