Subject: They Might Be Giants From: DonMeixner Date: 18 Jul 03 - 12:20 AM Drove to Buffalo, NY this evening with Geoffrey to take in They Might Be Giants at a free concert in Lafayette Park. I great show. More event than concert. I was amazed at how many people were clueless as to who TMBGs are. The stage show can be as looney as the lyrics. The best part of the show was seeing young kids, 10 and under with their parents at the show having a great time. Ofcouse there was more than enough twenty something stock broker wannabees and young Britaneys getting hammered on lite beer and answering cell phones while other people were listening to music. (Why would anyone answer a phone or create a call 20' from a mountain of speakers at a rock concert?) Well, it was a great time with my son anyway. Don |

Subject: RE: They Might Be Giants From: GUEST,Arkie Date: 18 Jul 03 - 10:16 AM I discovered The Might Be Giants through my kids and found them to not only be tolerable but actually enjoyable. To me, they are certainly one of the more intersting rock groups and one of the very few I would make an effort to see. I have not heard much about them of late, and am glad to know they are still around. |

Subject: RE: They Might Be Giants From: voyager Date: 18 Jul 03 - 03:51 PM NERD ROCK - way cool. Any group that can write a song about JAMES K. POLK are good enough for me. |

Subject: RE: They Might Be Giants From: Ely Date: 18 Jul 03 - 11:02 PM I was never a big TMBG fan but I have a certain affection for them as one of the defining "things" of my college days. I do, however, love the song "Minimum Wage", with the opening whip-crack. |
