Subject: Lyr Add: OR MAYBE THE AUTUMN (Hume, Vardy)
From: GUEST,leahshalek@hotmail.com
Date: 22 Jul 03 - 07:01 AM

Hi

I'm looking for information (title/author/performer), and if possible, a recording, of the following song:

I was trying to tell you when the sun came up
But I didn't know what to say
Watching the sun breaking over my head
And I didn't know what to play

    Chorus:
I know it was the summer wind that was moving along the trees
She said it's like the end of spring
I said or maybe the autumn breeze

I was trying to tell you when the sunrise sets
But I didn't know the time of day
Looking for clouds drifting over my head
And for statues mad out of clay

    *Chorus*

I was rushing to meet you whe the day broke up
So I couldn't collect my pay
Waiting for words flying in my head
So you told me you couldn't stay

    *Chorus*

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Leah

There was a copy by 'Prelude', on an LP called 'How long is Forever'. There are no sleeve notes about it. (DAWN DNLS 3052)

Reading more carefully it says all tracks Hume/Vardy - Hazy Music, except for one which is by Neil Young, so until shown otherwise, you can assume it was written by Prelude (Ian Vardy, Irene Hume, Brian Hume)

That's it. Thanks so much for your help!

Do you know where I might possibly get an MP3 or CD of the album? From what I can see not even the LP is available.

A quick search on google shows the following places have differently named CD of Prelude with that song listed. The last link shows seven copies of the LP for sale from different sellers. Here ya go:

CD with it

Same CD, different site

seven LPs of it
