Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: GUEST,Woodybuk Date: 03 Aug 03 - 06:32 PM Went to the festival for the first time this year and had the best time ever despite the wet weather. We thought best music was Proclaimers (alwaysn good value) Last Nights Fun, Beltaine, Flook who were fab. Also saw 'Dangerous Curves' - you go girls!!!! Exellent. Jim Moray - what's that all about???????????? We'll be back next year for sure. Loved it. |
Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: GUEST,KingBrilliant Date: 28 Jul 03 - 03:33 AM Wet wasn't it!!!!!!!!!!!! My campervan slid all over the place trying to get up the hill on the friday, so she stayed where she stopped in the middle of the carpark bit & we put a tent up halfway up the hill. Thank God for the sunshine all day Sunday - we drove off with no problems about 5pm (next year we will remember to book the monday off work........) My very favouritest concert bit was Guo Yue's Red. And of course Show of Hands standing in for Dave Swarbrick who was unfortunately taken ill. Hope he's feeling better. Kris |

From: GUEST,KB Date: 24 Jul 03 - 07:13 AM And then there's the mad bloke at Cropredy (very intense scarey eyes) who went to his tent, found it had been moved around and interfered with & got very paranoid about the Hells Angels types all laughing their b*ll*cks off at him as he went to bed. Woke up next morning to find it was not his tent at all! |
Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: Richard Bridge Date: 23 Jul 03 - 02:23 PM Sounds a bit like Cambridge one year. Cry from tent opposite (seeking missing drunk): "Jay, where are you" Voice, off: "I don't know!" |

Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: Beardy Date: 23 Jul 03 - 11:26 AM As its now well into the afternoon my memory seems to be working a lot better. Pub is called Hungerford Arms and serves Otter Bitter & Otter Bright, 6X and one guest if memory serves. |

Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: GUEST,KingBrilliant Date: 23 Jul 03 - 10:13 AM Thank God for gazebos full of musicians eh? My drunk is crap at remembering the way to the tent too. Last year at Cropredy he swore blind on three seperate occasions that we MUST be going the wrong way as he had NEVER seen the little bridge before. And he wonders why I insist we all stick together. I, however, am perfect - and have never woken up in a portaloo & wondered how I got there.......... |
Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: Beardy Date: 23 Jul 03 - 09:52 AM I know what you mean. Had to carry another friend to his tent only he was too pissed to remember where it was. Finally elicited he was in 2nd field bt no further info. Had to leave him under a gazebo at 2am in the company of musicians who promised to keep an eye on him. Still made it to pub by opening though. |
Subject: RE: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: GUEST,KingBrilliant Date: 23 Jul 03 - 07:23 AM Hiya We'll be there. We went last yr for the first time & its brilliant! We camped at the top of the hill last year - but won't be doing that again! The trouble I had getting my drunk up the hill at the end of the evening...... |
Subject: Trowbridge Festival anyone? From: Beardy Date: 23 Jul 03 - 07:12 AM Anyone else going to Trowbridge this weekend? I shall be there with 3 friends, Eddie, Doon and Mark from Thursday evening. Recommend the pub just up from campsite for Sunday lunch although cant remember name. Also for anyone new to the festival the Merv Grist players on Sunday at 6pm should not be missed!! Hope to see some fellow 'catters there. Stewart |
