I've been haunted and frustrated for decades by a fragment of lyric which I can't trace:

When winter walks upon the hill
And stands within this place
Then I will come to you once more
To look upon your face
To look upon your face

Glimpsed it as a child c.1990. It was the sample text on an ad for a word processing programme in a UK computer magazine (?!). I haven't been able to find it in any anthology or search engine, and I wonder if it has even been published. This is almost certainly a fruitless quest - but this is just the sort of place where the author *might* turn up. I'd be absolutely stunned and delighted if anyone can find it!

There's an mp3 sample clip here of the part of the song you've posted - recorded by "Childe Rolande" on their album/cassette Long Last (1990). No info about the song but the group seems to write their own material and the web site has e-mail addresses so perhaps you can find out more (click on the text to order the cassette, or on the musicians' names on the main page).

Thank you so much, delphinium, that's amazing!
I haven't got a sound card but I'll order their cassette.
Just goes to show that everything lost can be found at mudcat - what a wonderful place.
many thanks!
