Subject: From Max: Mudcat Update From: Max Date: 29 Jul 03 - 02:02 PM Sorry guys for the downtime this morning. I had the electrician in here this morning. Yee Haa. Finally got the power I need. Would have giving you warning that this was gonna happen, but I didn't know myself. No more fires here. I should have the midis back tomorrow too. Later. |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: Billy the Bus Date: 29 Jul 03 - 02:35 PM You're lucky it was Tuesday and the Electrician, not Monday and The Gasman who "Cometh". I guess you have a few more tradesmen to visit yet. All the best - Sam |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: GUEST,MMario Date: 29 Jul 03 - 03:15 PM GOOD! as an electrician's son I have a heartfelt dis-like and healthy fear of inadaquate wiring. |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 29 Jul 03 - 03:37 PM This is reassuring. Since hearing about the wiring, every time we've had the Mudcat going down recently, I've had a bit of a worry the place has burnt down. |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: Charley Noble Date: 29 Jul 03 - 07:57 PM Max- Glad to see Mudcat back up! Yes, I still owe you a $50 donation. And, Sam, "The Gasman Cometh" reminds me of about 100 other fine trade songs.;~) Cheerily, Charley Noble, back in Maine |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: Bill D Date: 29 Jul 03 - 08:10 PM Max...how's the fried server doing? You said you 'might' be able to get it working again...or are we still on the little back-up? |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: nutty Date: 30 Jul 03 - 04:11 AM Max .... I never seem to find enough words to say an adequate THANK-YOU for the time you spend keeping us happy. Believe me ... it is appreciated. Hazel |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: Max Date: 30 Jul 03 - 02:09 PM Electrician is still there. For a 2nd day. All is going well though. He said that the wiring in the basement was reversed polarity. Whatever, it's fixed now. And I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom now too. No Bill, the server is still fried. I can't get her to even boot. I will have to take some extreme measures. That bothers me 'cause it's a RAID setup, and I am worried that I might loose some data. Sure would be nice to have a backup drive, but they're as expensive as a whole computer. Pene and I have been working on a simpler version of the Mudcat and Mudcat Database to make it a lot easier to work with when we have a hardware failure. I'll take another crack at Tao tonight to try to get the Midis back. |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 30 Jul 03 - 02:31 PM "...the wiring in the basement was reversed polarity..." That's Star Trek talk. Reversing polarity always seems to have a dramatic effect when you're up against the Borg! |

Subject: RE: From Max: Mudcat Update From: Joe Offer Date: 30 Jul 03 - 02:38 PM So, Max, now that you don't have to stand over our servers with a fire extinguisher, will you be able to go to the Getaway? -Joe- |

What are we looking at...$1000? $2000?..less?, more?... calendars & cookbooks won't do it all, I suspect. |
