Hey all, lang time nay see, eh?

Uhm, yeah... I've been trying to find the lyrics for the song in subj., being unable to find it, I tried to write it down from the recording (by Minstrels of Mayhem, I believe), but couldn't fetch all of it... so now, here's what I've got, if anyone could help me to fill out what I couldn't, I would be quite excited. Thanks in advance. :)
Oh, and if anyone could inform as to who wrote it as well, that too would be nice :)

A Chance to Sing for the Queen

I'd travel the road and walk many a mile
To get to the fair, I would use all my ?
I'd cross all the swamps and step on crocodiles
For a chance just to sing for the queen

I'd run through the forest and wrestle with bears
And pass over brambles and troublesome snares
I promise at night I will safe(? 'say' perhaps?) all my prayers
For a chance just to sing for the queen

And I'll sing her a song that I hope she'll adore
The song of a poor man that dance cross the floor
And I pray when I've finished, that she'll give me
just one more chance to sing for the queen
(x2)

I'd (tangle?) with guards just to get to the gate
I'd cut through the line so I wouldn't be late
Just to get close, I would gamble with fate
For a chance just to sing for the queen

I'd cross raging rivers in a old, wooden raft
I'd tell funny jokes that make court jesters laugh
And noone would know ?
For a chance just to sing for the queen

And I'll sing her a song that I hope she'll adore
The song of a poor man that dance cross the floor
And I pray when I've finished, that she'll give me
just one more chance to sing for the queen

One more chance to sing for the queen

And she shall bring the birds at spring
And dance among the flowers
Summer (heaves?) her kisses sweet
?
?
Fruits ?
Days grow old and winter('?)s (cold?)
She draws her cloak around her

Ask on alt.fairs.renaissance.

never mind - I just checked- the Minstrels wrote it. I believe collectively. - though it is credited to Ty Billings alone in some places.

So Either Jerry Barry & Ty Billings or Ty Billings

the part you are missing at the end is where they segue "A chance to Sing for the Queen" into "nonesuch"

And she shall bring the birds in spring
And dance among the flowers

In summer's heat her kiss is sweet
she sings in leafy bowers

She cuts the corn and harvest the grain
When fruits of fall surround her

When days grow old in Winter's cold
she draws her cloak around her.

Aye, I'd ask on usenet if I had a proper newsreader installed (read: one with a bunch of functions as well as being überfast), as well as a newsfeed... and the time to keep up with it ;)

But thanks for the ending, I'll go Google to check on my other insecurities :)

oh! Sorry if that sounded like a brush off, it wasn't intended to be...

using the googles group option it's pretty easy to keep tabs on a newsgroup.
