Subject: RE: Geoff Muldaur on BBC2 From: Steve-o Date: 06 Aug 03 - 04:17 PM Don't miss it! I just saw him at a little club here in So. Cal., and he was wonderful. He tells great stories about the old blues players and the Cambridge folkie scene back in the sixties. Not to mention he plays great fingerstyle guitar, and that voice..... |

Subject: RE: Geoff Muldaur on BBC2 From: BanjoRay Date: 27 Aug 03 - 07:19 PM Thanks Roger - just heard it myself. The best thing I've heard all week. His singing, playing and reminiscencing about his old mates (Even Dozen JB, Maria M, Bill Keith etc) and the stuff about seeing Leadbelly's grave was kept clean were just superb. Cheers Ray |
Subject: RE: Geoff Muldaur on BBC2 From: Billy the Bus Date: 27 Aug 03 - 09:42 PM G'day RtS, Alas, I don't have sound on my system just now, so can't listen in. I've been thinking of Geoff over the past few days, and would crank the gramophone up to listen to "Even Dozen JB" - but I lost the crank handle (I'm not having a good time with technology right now) Anyway..... Thanks for adding to the thought running round my lonely braincell - it was inspired by hearing Maria M yap on the NZ wireless last week. JIM KWESKIN & his JB - rules! OK? Well, apart from mumble.... tails off into thoughts of the Jug Bands from the 30s. Fills his glass from the "Jug", and blows down thr neck.... BRRRPPPP... Dammitt - not enough air inside (the jug) to get resonance... Must keep drinkin'.. LATER.... What was I wobbling at the jaw about? TA RtS Cheers - Sam |
