Subject: Lyr Add: FLASH, BANG, WALLOP (from Tommy Steele) From: alanabit Date: 09 Aug 03 - 06:44 AM Hold it! Flash, bang, wallop What a picture! What a picture What a photograph! Poor old chap What a night he spent. Tights all torn and his rapier bent.
Clap hands That's all I could turn up from a Google search. It's incomplete, but there are plenty of folks more computer literate than me on Mudcat. So I am sure that if the thread stays up, you will get your lyrics. Good luck. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Flash, Bang, Wallop. sung by our Tommy From: Jeanie Date: 09 Aug 03 - 07:58 AM Here are my contributions to the jigsaw puzzle (by combined effort, we'll get there in the end !): All lined up in a wedding group, Here we are for a photograph, We're all dressed up in our morning suits And trying not to laugh. Since the early caveman in his prime Took a trip to Gretna Green, There's always been a photographer To record the happy scene Hold it ! Flash bang wallop (etc.) You've............. Or seen it in a Shakespeare play, How Romeo fell for Juliet In the merry month of May, ................ [something about climbing the balcony] ............... Hold it ! (etc.) [then follows the bit about the "bent rapier" - ho ! ho !] The only other bit I can remember right now is: My oh my ! Blimey what a joke ! Hat blown off in a cloud of smoke Clap hands...(etc.) If no-one comes up with the full lyrics, maybe you could put on here the words you have been able to make out from your recording, Bert, and we will try and fill in the gaps ? These lyrics are lurking in my brain *somewhere*... - jeanie |
