Subject: Opening Songs From: GUEST,Banjo 1925 Date: 14 Aug 03 - 11:02 AM We are looking for opening songs for a banjo & song duo that performs mostly for convalescent/rest home/assisted living audiences. At present we are using a 'smile' set - "Smile, Darn Ya' Smile," "Smiles," and "When You're Smiling." The intent of this selection is obvious. We welcome suggestions as to other songs that would be good for 'openers.' The Banjo Buddies. |

Subject: RE: Opening Songs From: Cluin Date: 14 Aug 03 - 12:55 PM "You Are My Sunshine". A good singalong and also a good finisher-upper (musically speaking, that is). |

Subject: RE: Opening Songs From: GUEST,Les B. Date: 14 Aug 03 - 12:59 PM What kind of banjo - old timey clawhammer, bluegrass, or jazzy plectrum? Different stokes for different folks. Bluegrass has a lot of up-tempo songs, and so does old timey. Probably a lot of pop tunes from the 20's to 40's for plectrum. |
