Normal, Alice. George Bush's campaign was financed with white, male corporate CEO's that only want to make a profit. Screw tha Americsan worker if he's in the way of turning a buck. Keep watching and you'll see a complete dismantling of all gains made by labor in the lsat century as Boss Hog leads us all back into *his* cotton fields... Think this can't happen? Think again.

But there is one miscalculation in the greed. Unemployemnt. There will be a time when the masses can't take any more of Boss Hog's bullying and will rise up against Boss Hog. In a way, having Boss Hog's dream President is just going to accelerate the process since this puppet has no backbone at all.

The sad thing is that the US is coming closer and closer to a society much like Isreal's, where suicide bombers are the norm as American working class fights back with the only tools it has to be heard. Another 5M jobs sent overseas in the name of profit and we'll be there.

To stock holders, this is geneious. To the rest of America, this is going to be seen as a self inflicted suicide by the ruling class... Stupid people....

Bobert

Breaking his campaign promises RE Kyoto ain't even the tip of the iceberg. There is so, so, so, much more.

"- is devasting the environment on a score of fronts - No doubt, the chief among which is Kyoto, your man said it was impractical and by and large he is being proved correct, with most of its signatories only paying lip-service to what they have signed up to do, they never intended to do anything else."

wow. so bush is okay because at least he doesn't pretend he's remotely interested in saving the environment?

Why, nothing to it -- we install three or four thousand gigantic oil-powered generating plants along the east and west coasts and feed them on Iraqi oil. Nothing could be simpler!! I just don't get what's bugging you people!!

I don't like name calling, but Teribus would make an excellent Republican. Your response, Teribus, is disingenuous in the extreme.

Naughty, Amos

Maybe you should give the call centres mentioned a call and speak to one of the 75 people employed - You will probably find that they speak better english than you, or me.

Big Mick: Would that we were all as perfect as yourself

Now with regard to "This guy"

- who went AWOL for a year - No he didn't, no charges brought or questions asked at that time.

- an admitted substance abuser - Were he anybody else, most on this forum would be commending him for his honesty in owning up to that abuse and his integrity and strength of character in publically facing up to his problem. There's a thread currently running on exactly this subject.

- dismantles every bit of the social safety net that protects the underemployed - Really? I would have thought that the social safety net you are refering to was there for the poor, the destitute, the unemployed. Compared to them the underemployed are comparatively well off. Have these programmes been scrapped totally or are they being adjusted and refined?

- is quickly destroying the economy - not according to economic and financial opinion this side of the Atlantic, where all the evidence and indicators show that yours is an economy that is coming out of stagnation and is growing - as opposed to the "euro-zone" economies of France, Germany, The Netherlands and Italy which are currently actually in recession. GWB is not the only one who has advocated tax cuts in order to kick-start recovery - the Chancellor in Germany is adopting the same line, this however will not be as effective as it should be, because unlike the US Federal Bank, the ECB has kept EU interest rates artificially high, and the EU's own regulations severely limit the degree to which individual governments can intervene with public spending to stave off recessionary influences.

- gets us into a quagmire with phoney evidence - Nope, but that is a matter of opinion upon which you and I can safely agree to disagree about.

- is devasting the environment on a score of fronts - No doubt, the chief among which is Kyoto, your man said it was impractical and by and large he is being proved correct, with most of its signatories only paying lip-service to what they have signed up to do, they never intended to do anything else.

- and now outsources these jobs to offshore companies - According to the article quoted above, the decision to do this comes from those running the Republican Party Organisation, not GWB personally.

How many times do we have to see this stuff to understand it for what it is? This guy, who went AWOL for a year, an admitted substance abuser, dismantles every bit of the social safety net that protects the underemployed, is quickly destroying the economy, gets us into a quagmire with phoney evidence, is devasting the environment on a score of fronts, and now outsources these jobs to offshore companies...............yet all he has to do is fly in the copilots seat to a carrier 30 miles off the coast wearing a flight suit and the great American unwashed proclaim him patriotic. When will we ever learn?

If he gets re elected, and Schwarzenegger gets elected..........well, we deserve it.

I am disgusted, not with these assholes, but with us.

Mick

Here is an interesting bit of political news. What do you think of outsourcing political campaign jobs to countries with cheap labor?

Alice

"The Republican Party has decided to save money by outsourcing their fundraising to low-cost overseas workers:

This is the first time such a project has been handed out to a company outside the US. The market research and public relations companies engaged by the party usually undertake such projects.

HCL eServe has put in place a team of 75 people to work on the project out of its call centres in Noida and Gurgaon [a few miles outside New Delhi]. According to industry sources, the number of seats could be ramped up depending on the success of the campaign. These operators are required to call up people in the US seeking their support for President George W Bush and a donation for the Republican cause." From CalPundit. You can read the full story at
