Eat a diet of pure lard and you would certainly lose weight throwing up.

Only 3 to go for a perfect score, be like me and keep practicing. Mind you I did lose large chunks of 1967.
Giok

Ahhhh, saw an article in the news last week that the size of the portions of food had a direct correlation to obesity? Danged, that earth-frighin-shatterin'!

the effect that certain types of foods have on certain types of metabolisms is probably a greater factor in obesity than portion size. I want to say absolutely is in many people but I will refrain. If you do nothing else if you are overweight, count your carbs, get a blood sugar meter and measure your blood sugar, and get periodic tests of your insulin level. It can be measured. We don't need to theorize about this stuff. mg

Remember Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean? It's a children's nursery rhyme, sure, but think about it for just a minute. Everyone is different. Some people are going to need more fats and proteins than others. One of the reasons some people (like me) don't do well on a very low-fat diet is that fat makes you feel full, and if you don't get just the right amount, you won't feel full and you may end up eating more calories. More calories = more weight.

I do better eating plenty of lean meats, dairy products, and tons of vegetables. Other people do well on beans & rice. It just depends.
