What to do when one of "those" songs keeps running around through your head, but you can't remember all of the words so you can finish it and put it to rest.

I'm pretty sure I heard this on a 78 that my dad drug home sometime in the late 40s or very early 50s. The title is "You'll Never Grow Old In My Heart."

I've found a web reference to it at the-forum On-Line Antiques Mall

Jimmie and Dick, The Novelty Boys, Folio of Original and Favorite Songs. 1947.

Unfortunately, they want $35 for the book, and I'm pretty sure these weren't the guys on the record. Haven't found any place with lyrics – and I NEED to know all the words so I can "finish" the song and clear my brain (I've tried banging my head on my Ctl-Alt-Del sign – no help). I didn't find it in the DT, or any of the "likely" lyric sites I know of.

What I can remember is:

"I know that some day, your hair will turn gray
But you'll never grow old in my heart
…"

And a snatch of chorus with:

"Love me just a little, but love me from now on
Love that is too hasty may fade and soon be gone."

The tag line, "You'll never grow old in my heart" gets repeated a lot.

Does anybody have, or remember, the lyric??????

John
