-? to anyone hoping to have seen The Copper Family at the recent Brooklyn event, also in Philadelphia and Washington DC. Regrettably both Bob (aged 88) and John were taken ill almost upon arrival in the USA with Bob being admitted as an emergency patient to The Brooklyn College Hospital for a period of 5 days. He was discharged with a proviso that he was taken immediately back to England where further tests and treatment would be decided upon. Unfortunately he is still not well enough to pursue this course of action although responding positively to daughter Jills' nursing.

Neither daughter Jill nor myself were in a position (mentally or due to family commitments) to be able to contribute to the proceedings in Brooklyn, so profuse apologies from us all. We hope for Bob's speedy recovery - he is showing no sign of having lost his sense of humour. Time will be the healer.

thank you for posting, Jon...we certainly missed hearing the group, but Bob's health was a far greater concern. I (in the Washington area) was fortunate to be there at two earlier appearances, and those rank as among the most wonderful evenings the FSGW has presented in my 25 years with the organization.

I hope Bob's health will improve and allow him still more time to share his knowlege and memories with us all!

Maybe I'll just go put on my collection of Copper Family LPs today, and think healing thoughts!

Best wishes to both Bob and John for a speedy recovery, and to the whole Copper family, going through what must be a most stressful time. I have no doubt that Jill's nursing is of the finest.
