Subject: RE: Song entry help? From: Joe Offer Date: 28 Aug 98 - 10:16 PM A-plus, Rosie! Looks to me like you done it right. Say, didn't I meet a hurricane named Rosie once upon a time??? Oh, and usually it's us MSIE users who are referred to as nitwits and told to get a real browser. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Song entry help? From: Rosie Date: 28 Aug 98 - 09:58 PM OK..here goes...I'm one of those Netscape nitwits who has never quite gotten the hang of the dang thing yet. Here's an attempt with angle brackets.(enter enter)
My Bonnie lies over the ocean Here I will submit to see how it looks. Thanks to all for your endurance. Rosie |

Subject: RE: Song entry help? From: Joe Offer Date: 28 Aug 98 - 02:10 AM And the best HTML guide I've seen is Dan Mulligan's masterpiece - click here. At least, it's completely correct if viewed in MS Internet Explorer (MSIE). I haven't checked to see how it looks in Netscape. The most important thing to know about HTML here is the line breaks, [br], but in those angle brackets that are on your comma and period keys. There's a really great way to display the HTML tags in MSIE so they look exactly like they're supposed to look when you type them - but it comes out as gibberish in Netscape. For a long time, I couldn't figure out why some people were entering line breaks in such a strange way - then I realized they didn't see things in Netscape the way I see them in MSIE. So, class, pay attention and listen to me carefully: the end-of-the-line tag is [br], but you substitute angle brackets for the square brackets in my example. This thread would be a nice place to practice. I'll delete extraneous practice messages after a few days. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Song entry help? From: BSeed Date: 27 Aug 98 - 11:43 PM Roger: < br >, not < b >: it gives you boldface type. I know you know that, since I learned it from you. --seed |
Subject: RE: Song entry help? From: Roger Himler Date: 27 Aug 98 - 09:19 PM BBJ At the end of a line type in < b > without the spaces. This inserts a line break. That's how we do it!! I just know Joe did not want to explain this again, so I'll pass it on this time. Roger in Baltimore |

Subject: Song entry help? From: BBJ Date: 27 Aug 98 - 08:43 PM What is the new line control code to use when entering song lyrics. The only way I have found to get the lines to phrase right is to double space them, which others don't have to do. So what's the secret, and where should I have gone to look up this info. Forgive the ignorance of a long-time lurker, infrequent contributor. |
