Anybody have cords for Streets of Derry as performed on the purple ablum of Brady and Irvine? Thanks ahead of time, Larry

Lorcan, Malcolm said in this thread that it is usually the same tune as Anach Cuain. Does that help?

Anach Cuain at JC's Tunefinder. Sheet music gif.

Though I'd better mention that it's also sung to a variant of Youghal Harbour, so it will depend on where you learnt it.

on the purple ablum of Brady and Irvine...

All ska doo... as I don't read music, if someone could just put down a verce with the C A etc. over it, it would be GREAT! Again, with thanks Larry

Couldn't make the links above work.

Peace, Mooh.

24 hours and it sank into O'Blivion.

Bueller? Bueller?

As usual, thanks in advance.

Peace, Mooh.

Sorry, Mooh - what were you looking for? Words are in the DT - tune file seems to be missing. FWIW I recognise neither Youghal Harbour (Boolavogue) nor Anach Cuan in the tune I usually hear for this song.

Regards

Words I have from the DT, but I'm unfamiliar with the melody and chords that I find too, as you mentioned.

I need the melody and chords as the original poster wanted.

Thanks.

Peace, Mooh.

In fact, having been demented by the two tunes for the last few hours, I reckon the tune IS quite close to Anach Cuan (second part, basically).

Thanks, I'll have a look (found it at the session.com). If it's the tune the chords will be easy.

Peace, Mooh.

Me too - anyone know `em?

I was curious, and I've found a version of Streets of Derry here:

http://www.8notes.com/scores/6464.asp?ftype=gif

Does it look like the version that's wanted?

It may be a beautiful tune, but I don't want to work on chords for it, because it moves stepwise so much. It will take more time to work it out than I can afford.

But perhaps finding the sticks and dots will help someone else.
