This one is a NOVELTY tune about the difference between a man and a woman!

Possible title:

I remember the tune clearly
But I only recall the following lines

A woman can .........

But, she can't strike a match in the dark like a man

From the 40's era, maybe.

I suppose the last couplet alludes to the 19th-century tradition of men wearing jeans so tight that they could strike a match on the seat. These days, among young Americans at least, it would be women that are "built that way". The height, or depth, of fashion for young men seems to be crotches down around their knees.

It is printed in Green's Census and Diary Almanac, 1880 (printed in 1879).

It is not presented as a song but as a series of poems by different newspapers about women not being built that way.

I found this on Spotify. This singing duo (one of them plays piano) made 11 short films for British Pathé between 1935 and 1941.
