The DT has this one Since Love Can Enter an Iron Door - Creighton Collection

We've had requests for the one from Hank Snow, but it sounds like it is different than the one above. No one replied to the previous thread with the words.

Rather oddly the only song I tried at Hank Snow Lyrics A-M (on the Hank Snow site) which failed to give the words was that one!

But if you go back from there to the lyrics home page there is an e-mail contact which promises to try and help. You could try that.

It'a a traditional desendent of a broadside ballad of about 1630, 'constant wife (also known as 'Locks and Bolts do hinder), ZN3202, in the broadside ballad index at www.erols.com/olsonw. It's obviously descended from some older, but unknown tale, poem, or song. There are several 17th century versions known, and are crossed referenced in the broadside ballad index. At the later Scottish "Earl Brand" it becomes a Child ballad.

Funny thing: the lyrics posted by Art Thieme and Frank Maher don't contain the lyrics I transcribed. Did the website mislead me by playing the wrong song? If so, it's not the first time I've encountered a mistake like that.
