Dang! You folks on the other side of the pond seem to have an awful lot of gatherings and opportunities to get together and have a grand ol' time singin' and celebratin'. You're startin to make me think I'd be better off moving back to the old country and give up this pioneering of the new world.

Errr... if you only started to organise people on 18 Sept to go to a weekend do a fortnight later, I'm not surprised you found it difficult to organise!!

I thought it was your cooking that was putting people off Raggytash! :-)

I had no sooner put up the link (as asked ) when Redcar wanted to cancel. I personaly have been down with the dreaded Flue and away for about a week. I did find the Mudcat hard to get onto and I've lost my links for it's other Http:// adresses.
It's always a pity when a good idea thought up with good intentions goes wrong!

Never mind maybe the lovely Noreen will organise it for you next year since she is obviously so good as these things.

Guest, if you're going to make insidious remarks about people you could at least have the decency to put your name to them instead of hiding behind the title of Guest. I am sure that if Noreen was to take the lead she would do so admirably and furthermore I see nothing in her thread that justified your comment in the first place.

OOOW eck, what a bumer, never mind Raggytash that lets you off the cooking (remember Holmfirth 2001), so is any one going to Ingleton instead then or both sides of the tweed?

You're not going to let me forget that are you, just for the rest of you. I used to be a chef, fully qualified etc etc, One day Muppett came to my house and I started cooking a meal, then became engrossed in conversation with Muppett and cremated said meal, the first and only time in my entire life that I have done so. During my career in catering I must have produced about 2.5 million meals, to make a cock up of 4 represents a failure rate of less than 0.00000000000000001 percent or some such figure .......anyone any good at maths

I was only passing comment, what you forgot to say was that you made up for it and treated me to a brill curry though. cheers

Well thank you, anonymous GUEST, for your vote of confidence.

(I did do the groundwork for a Mudcat gathering in an out-of-season youth hostel a few years ago, but events overtook this and we had the Stoney Stratford gathering instead.)

Perhaps you will volunteer to help also, since you are so perspicacious?
