Just got done watching a French movie with German subtitles (Arte channel) about an apparently true story: a 1961 mutiny of Breton paratroopers in Algeria. It was a 1972 film ("Avoir vingt ans dans les Aures"/"Mit 20 Jahren in den Arues")and quite a timepiece with an unhappy ending. I am interested in the music that is credited to Yves Branellec -- who is he and what was he a folk musician? Some of the songs sounded quite folky. There is a haunting musical overlay in one scene that is either Arabic or Celtic Breton but very operatic ... wasn't paying much attention.

Cheers/Tschuess,

Brian
