For those of you who didn't know Alan or his songs, you may have come across CDs by Derek Gifford and Mike Nicholson, who have both recorded songs by Alan: 'Aaron Manby' by Derek and 'Empy Echoes' or 'Echoes in the Stall' by Mike. The book is now in the final throes of preparation with around fifty of Alan's songs in. It's being published by Daylight Press, with appreciations of Alan from Andy Barnes and Matt Armour, amongst others, as well as notes on some of the songs from Tony O'Neill and Tom Brown. Alan wrote wonderful songs and I was very pleased to hear Louise singing them at Whitby.
