Subject: Lyr Req: ploughboy song by brian cookman From: GUEST,skippy Date: 23 Sep 03 - 05:13 PM hi all, the song starts with lines "I don't want to be a ploughboy" follow the furrow is not for me. I've done that classic thing of buying a new stereo without a turntable & I have brian's folk rock opera (as he once called it)on a piece of circular plastic! Help. Anyone got the words typed out? |

Subject: Lyr Add: I DON'T WANT TO BE A PLOUGHBOY (B Cookman From: nutty Date: 15 Dec 03 - 07:29 AM Skippy ...hope you are still visiting and that you are still looking for these words ....i knew they would turn up eventually. I don't want to be a ploughboy I don't want to be a ploughboy Follow the furrow is not for me Living with sheep and cows, boy Well, that's no life for me And to spend and end all my days The same through ages past I don't want to be a ploughboy Is that too much to ask? I don't want to be a ploughboy I know I could be something more I f someone would show me how, boy I could be a star I'm sure But you say I should know my place And be thankful for my task But I don't want to be a ploughboy Is it too much to ask? So I'm not going to be a ploughboy And follow the furrow just like my Dad I think the time is now, boy There's good times to be had And I'll say goodbye to the plough and harrow Bid farewell to the soil at last Cos, I'm not going to be a ploughboy And it's not too much to ask I have the author/singer as Brian Cookman and I know the song came from a production but can't remember what, where or when. Has anyone else got any info????? |
