I've just caught another interview with her (on the iPlayer) from the BBC World Service arts programme The Strand. She's the last guest on, and she speaks so movingly about the various aspects of the sea, and the images of loss and loneliness that it calls up. I thought this was a better interview than the Women's Hour one (though that was by no means bad). Haven't heard Mike Harding's.

Like fine wine, June just goes on getting better and better.

This should be on the iPlayer for a few more days anyway. It's the general arts page, so you'll have to click "Thursday" for the relevant Strand programme (upper right-hand corner). Couldn't get a more detailed link than this:

I heard June being interviewed on Woman's Hour on Friday, and singing the Bleacher Lassie of Kelvinhaugh (because she could sing it unaccompanied). Also, her recording of The Band played Waltzing Matilda was one of Anne Owers' Desert Island discs this morning (because Anne's grandfather was sent to Souvla, and survived both Gallipoli and the Somme).

Does anyone know where a person might find up-to-the-moment cd chart sales info i.e. how well cds are selling?

I am really impressed with the production value and engineering on JT's new cd "Ashore".Clean and simple, just the way this material should be recorded.
