Subject: Lyr Add: BUGGER OFF
From: GUEST,Len Wallace

Hello Mudcatites,

My musical compadre Clinton Hammond made a request earlier this year for the lyrics to the song "Bugger Off." I guess he got it from the same recording and place we perform in (Auld Kelly's Pub in Chatham, ON).

I think the song will come in handy when dealing with the obnoxiously drunk crowds at the end of the night who just won't go home. But I decided to change one of the verses for those of us whose spouses sometimes attend a gig we perform.

Below are the original lyrics followed by the new verse to the second last verse.

BUGGER OFF

Bugger off, ya bastards, bugger off.
Bugger off, ya bastards, bugger off.
Like a heard of bloody swine who refuse to leave the trough
You'll get no more this evening so, ya bastards, bugger off.

You've been a lovely audience but, oh, the time has passed,
So don't ya all be letting the door hit ya in the ass.
You've been a lovely audience but enough is enough.
We'd take it very kindly if ya'd all just bugger off.

Here's to the barkeeps and the waitresses who've been serving you your beer.
They put up with your awful breath and your stupid drunken leers.
Be leaving all your money on the table when ya go.
Tomorrow you'll have a throbbin' head and nothing else to show.

Here's to all the lovely ladies who are waiting for the band
And thinking one of them might make a torrid one-night stand.
Oh, please don't be offended, girls. This song's not meant for you,
And we're happy to oblige you when this nasty job is through.

So now you're promising the ladies a night of lovin' bliss.
When, truth be told, you're far too drunk to stand up straight and piss.
So give it up, ya bloody sods. You'll not be getting laid,
And the sooner that you're out the door, the sooner we'll get paid!

Alternative third verse:

Here's to all the lovely ladies who are waiting for the band,
And thinking one of us might be a lover with some flair.
Oh, please don't be offended, girls. This song's not meant for you.
We'd be happy to oblige you, but our wives are sitting THERE!!

Sounds like a terrible plight mate!

LOL

"I guess he got it from the same recording and place we perform in (Auld Kelly's Pub in Chatham, ON)"

Actually, I got it off one of the lads at O'Ryans (Sean I think...) almost a year ago... Mick and I have been threatening to do it for at least that long...

heh

Fire up Kazaa or any other file sharer, and look for the MP3... It's pretty basic...

Well, I wrote a verse and buggered it up! Wrong rhyming scheme.

so here goes again:

Original verse:
Here's to all the lovely ladies who are waiting for the band
And thinking one of them might make a torrid one-night-stand
Oh please don't be offended girls this song's not meant for you
And we're happy to oblidge you when this nasty job is through

New verse:
Here's to all the lovely ladies who are waiting for the band
And thinking one of them might make a torrid one-night-stand
Oh please don't be offended girls, It's not that we don't care.
We'd be happy to oblidge you but our wives are sitting THERE!
