Subject: Origins: Children Song From: GUEST,Cookie Date: 07 Oct 03 - 11:25 AM I had this request and was hoping someone can tell me if they know anything about this song? Artist?? I couldn't find anything on Kid Tunes, is it a radio station? (My daughter used to love a song in which chickens clucked out the tune of "Born to Be Wild" she heard on Kid Tunes on satellite. It was great!) Thanks Cookie |

Subject: RE: Req: Born to Be Wild (kids' version by Chickenwolf From: Jim Dixon Date: 15 Nov 11 - 10:24 AM The song you want seems to be BORN TO BE WILD performed by Chickenwolf. It appears on a compilation album called "Discovery Channel: Animal Planet – Sing with the Animals" (Rhino, 1998). You can hear it at YouTube. If you're interested in more songs of the same genre, there's IN THE MOOD, "sung" (actually clucked) by "The Henhouse Five Plus Too" (actually Ray Stevens using overdubbing, I suspect). You can hear it at YouTube After being a hit single in 1977, it was used in the soundtrack of the film "Pecker" (1998), written and directed by John Waters. It also appears on the album "The Best of Ray Stevens" and the K-Tel collection "Kooky Kountry." The original IN THE MOOD was an instrumental piece composed by Joe Garland and recorded by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. Andy Razaf wrote words to it, and those were sung by the Andrews Sisters and Bette Midler, but the vocal version is less well known. |
