Subject: Lyrics: Where Can I go but to the Lord? From: B Sondahl http://www.camasnet.com/~asondahl Date: 02 Sep 98 - 09:51 AM I'd like the lyrics and source for the gospel song, refrain is, roughly: Where can I go, where can I go, I'm needing a harbor for my soul. I'm needing a friend, who'll stay with me till the end, tell me where can I go, but to the Lord? Thanks |
Subject: Lyr Add: WHERE COULD I GO BUT TO THE LORD (Coats) From: Gene Date: 02 Sep 98 - 03:04 PM * GO HERE * GOSPEL MUSIC SITE WHERE COULD I GO J. B. Coats Living below in this old sinful world Hardly a comfort can afford Striving alone to face temptations sore Where could I go but to the Lord? Chorus: Where could I go, O where could I go Seeking a refuge for my soul Needing a friend to help me in the end Where could I go but to the Lord? Neighbors are fun I love 'em everyone We get along in sweet accord But when I pass the chilling hand of death Where could I go but to the Lord? Chorus Life here is grand with friends I love so dear Comfort I get from God's own Word But when my soul needs manna from above Where could I go but to the Lord? Chorus |

Subject: Where Could I Go But to the Lord? (J B Coats) From: Genie Date: 21 Aug 09 - 02:43 PM I just learned that this song, which Elvis helped popularize, was written by the same man (James B Coats) who wrote "The Sweetest Gift (A Mother's Smile) forum thread for The Sweetest Gift and When Zephyrs Of Heaven Shall Fan Me To Sleep and several other wonderful Gospel songs. Sad to say, he passed away before he was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame. |
