Subject: Lyr Req: Liza Jane From: CelesteF Date: 13 Oct 03 - 12:04 PM I'm learning a tune called "Liza Jane" (not Lil Liza Jane)from my banjo teacher and I'd like to learn the words too. My teacher doesn't know the words, except for a repeating phrase, "That's my Liza Jane." I couldn't find this song in the DT. Does anyone know it? |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Liza Jane From: GUEST Date: 14 Oct 03 - 04:35 PM Nathan, Thanks for pointing me to that thread. It's a beaut! The song I'm looking for isn't there, alas. Q pointed me to a site that gave me the title, though -- Big Liza Jane. I thought my banjo teacher was making a joke, distinguishing the tune from Lil Liza Jane, but apparently that's the real title. Now if only I could find the words. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Liza Jane From: Geoff the Duck Date: 15 Oct 03 - 05:06 AM I can only find references / samples as a tune - there don't seem to be any references to words existing. I suspect that it is just a dance tune with a title which is a sort of "joke" reference to an earlier tune. It is, however, a nice bouncy melody - a good foot-tapper. http://www.greatmeadowmusic.com/offshoots.html http://www.carpazon.com/CC20011of3/ Track%202sam.mp3 http://www.carpazon.com/tunes2001/ tundex2/D150501Big%20Liza.mp3 http://mfile.akamai.com/3171/wm2/ muze.download.akamai.com/2890/us/uswm2/935/2379 Quavck!
