Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Pie or Apple Pie from movie Michael From: open mike Date: 22 Oct 03 - 09:17 PM well i found the movie, and the song is a tiny little bit about pie.. not sure why the bride said this would be a good wedding song.. Pie, pie, me oh my, nothing tastes sweet wet salty and dry All at once as well as pie, apple, pumpkin, mince, and black bottom, I'll come to your place every day if you got 'em Pie, me oh my, I love pie. But the next song may be better..as it has to do with angels... |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Pie or Apple Pie from movie Michael From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Oct 03 - 12:52 AM According to The Internet Movie Database (IMDb), the song is "The Pie Song" Music by Steve Dorff Lyrics by Roy Blount Jr. Published by TNT Music Publishing, Inc./Techwood Music, Inc. Actually, I believe it was originally a short poem by Roy Blount, Jr., and it appeared in one of his early books—I think it was "One Fell Soup: Or, I'm Just a Bug on the Windshield of Life", which, alas, is out of print. Whichever book it was, it contained several poems about food. There were some memorable lines; in fact, these are from memory (and probably not exactly right): Nothing's wetter than an oyster. Nothing's slicker. Nothing's moister. Hit me with a hamma. Wham! Bam! Bam! What good amma Without mah ham? The stores are all out of broccoli. Loccoli. |

Jim Dixon, your memory is excellent! I believe his last book was "Sports Guys," and it included Tiger Woods. Soup Songs and Webster's Art One Fell Soup or: I'm Just a Bug on the Windshield of Life. Both are available at online booksellers for $1.00 up. |
