It was indeed the North Yorks Moors Railway Event... It got on the telly. Alas the train stood at the platform on the piece to camera had an engine that was not designed until after the war was over and most of the carriages looked BR too (post 1948)

You can arrive for the next term of Hogwarts School at the start of November...
1st & 2nd November
Wizard Weekend
A magical family day out following in Harry Pottes Footsteps on his journey to Hogsmeade, Goathland Station, where his arrival was filmed in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, with magicians, live owls, besom making and much more along the whole line.
Quack!
Geoff the Duck (not an owl in sight!)

Some friends took us to Pickering on Saturday to see the wartime re-enactors. The place was full of people in WWII uniforms or civvies, and everyone looked as if they were having a great time, and someone was singing wartime favourites on a PA.

I can't find any reference to it on the Net, which is astonishing. Any 'Catters round those parts who can fill me in?

Steve
