Subject: OBIT.Gladys(Mam)Wilson UK From: nutty Date: 25 Oct 03 - 03:18 AM I received a message late last night to say that "Mam" Wilson had died. This amazing lady produced 7 offspring - 6 of whom sang together as the WILSON FAMILY. Gladys was well respected on the folk scene. She loved the music and the people and although she had been ill for some time, her passing is still a sad event for myself and others who came to know her well. She was a lovely lady .....may she rest in peace |

Subject: RE: OBIT.Gladys(Mam)Wilson UK From: rodentred Date: 26 Oct 03 - 05:14 PM A fine lady, may she rest in peace. She produced one heck of a brood and apparently was advised, on medical grounds, not to have any more after her first (Patricia). What would the folk scene have been like had she heeded the doctor? |

Subject: RE: OBIT.Gladys(Ma)Wilson UK From: Gillie Date: 26 Oct 03 - 07:39 PM Ahh, sorry to hear that, Ma Wilson will be sadly missed. Fond memories of her and the Darlington Spring Thing, which coincided with Mothers Day, when the Wilson boys took the daffs out of the vases and gave them to Ma. Lovely (BG) |
