Subject: RE: Lyr Add: I'm Packin' Up From: wysiwyg Date: 01 Nov 03 - 04:53 PM We're doing it tonight, and I'm putting it in the porta-kit too, for unexpected chances to lead songs at events when there are no instruments handy. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: I'm Packin' Up From: wysiwyg Date: 19 Apr 14 - 05:10 AM Nowadays I use this to close workshops, song circles, meetings, etc, sending it around the circle if people have caught the pattern well enough to "spontaneate" their own improvised appreciations of one another or what they're taking away from the event. I'll point between my part and their response to help them catch it and start off the improvs with something like, "I'll take your smile," (packin up gettin ready to go). I'll see who's getting it quickest and then point the turn to them. I don't explain much-- that just creates a schoolroom, perfectionist, killjoy vibe. The song itself does all the work and I just model setting it loose. ♥♡♥ |
