Subject: RE: ANN: Julie Ellison Gigs in November From: John Robinson (aka Cittern) Date: 08 Nov 03 - 04:59 PM Just noticed this posting Sooz. Thanks! Spending too little time on Mudcat and too much time in the studio with the next generation of musical grates (sorry greats) - Death Metal included :-( Actually I have some insight into the musical minds of the young people of today which I will post here shortly. And the good news is that it is positive news!! All the best John Robinson http://www.JulieEllison.co.uk |

Subject: RE: ANN: Julie Ellison Gigs in November From: John Robinson (aka Cittern) Date: 08 Nov 03 - 05:15 PM I should also mention that a couple of people who saw Julie at Gainsborough this year have mentioned that they are voting for Julie in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. The only catagory you can vote in is the "Best Live Act" catagory and, to quote the BBC website, it is for: the "artist, duo or group (which) has made the biggest impression on you at a live performance over the last year?" If anyone has seen Julie this year - at Gainsborough or elsewhere - and feels that this applies to her, we would be very grateful if you could visit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/folk/folkawards/vote.shtml and cast your vote for Julie Ellison. Putting her name in front of the Radio 2 programme producers in advance of the album launch would be useful to say the least, and I know there are many out there who would like to see Julie begin to get the recognition she deserves. If you do vote, please only vote once since they are checking for "block" votes and in any case we do want to get there (wherever "there" is) on merit. All the best John Robinson http://www.JulieEllison.co.uk |
